About me

Dear Parents,

Welcome to a new school year!  My name is Jeneal Latzke.  This is my 3rd year teaching here at Summit.  Prior to this I taught first grade in Jordan school District while finishing my Bachelors at University of Phoenix. I have high expectations for my students but I also have lots of fun things planned for the year.

Here are my classroom rules

Our class rules are:

  1.     I will keep my hands, feet and objects to myself.
  2.     I will listen and follow instructions.
  3.     I will raise my hand before I speak.
  4.     I will be kind to others.
  5.     I will try my best!

I am looking for 3 games/activity, 1 craft, and 1 treat table. this will allow us to rotate in groups from the activities..

Math Homework September 24

Dear Parents,

The students are struggling with the models for subtraction. I have sent home a homework page with them today, please have students draw pictures and match up the groups and compare to help them get their answers.

For example: #1 Ashlee saw 8 lizards. Ian saw 5 lizards. How many more lizards did Ashlee see than Ian?

8-5=3
++++++++
+++++

Students would draw a line to match the top group to the bottom group, compare the two groups and know Ashlee saw 3 more lizards than Ian.

Also here is a video link to help with the concept as well.

Thank you!
