Welcome to my school home page.
My name is Tamarin Youlton and I am starting my second full school year at Summit. I am an immigrant from South Africa and have been in the USA since November 2016. I started here at Summit very soon after that in the December of 2016. So I jumped right back into what I love doing, Teaching!
I taught in South Africa for several years, teaching several grades, and various subjects. I am currently a 5th Grade teacher here at Summit Academy. I have always enjoyed this grade as the students personalities really shine and we can have such interesting and fun discussions. I also love being here at Summit. This is an amazing group of teachers, with fabulous administrative staff who are here to support us as teachers, and you as parents and students of this amazing school. I have experienced a range of schools and can truly say that I have never been in such a wonderful school. You have made a fantastic choice by sending your children here.
Some of the things I love to do are reading, crafting, spending time with my family, and just hanging out.
Things here are different enough that I am still learning about the foods and culture of the country and I am enjoying the changes. So far I have discovered texas toast, hot tomales and chocolate milk. There is still so much to learn and explore about this region and this country and I am really looking forward to doing that. All suggestions would be welcome :)
If you ever have any questions, comments, or concerns, please feel free to contact me via email or through the school office at

Dear Parents
This is just a reminder that the quarter closes next week Wednesday, 10/17. We will be locking our grades that day as well. We will be taking final grades for this quarter in by this Friday so we have time to get everything in.
If your child would like to do any make-up work, it needs to be done by Friday to count for this quarter.
Thank you
