About Mrs. Baumer

Growing up in the small town of Twin Falls, Idaho taught me a lot about the importance of family and friendships. I learned that I needed to respect those around me and cherish moments with those that I cared about. I love all sports and played on many teams growing up. I played one year of college basketball at the College of Southern Idaho before I decided I would rather play for fun instead of for a job. I have a huge appreciation for teamwork and cooperation.

I graduated from Utah State University with a Bachelor of Science in Human Movement Science. (Major in Physical Education and a Minor in Health)

I taught with Somerset Academy in Las Vegas, Nevada for four years. As much as I loved sweating in that scorching heat, I wanted to move closer to my family. So here I am.
I am so excited to start this next chapter of my life with this Falcon family here at Summit Academy.
I am so glad I moved! Not only do I love teaching here at Summit Academy with these amazing students, but I also met my husband! It will take some getting used to, but now you can call me, Mrs. Baumer. :)

My whole life I have wanted to touch another person’s life. Teaching is my opportune chance to do that. I have had many influences in my life that have made me who I am today; I wouldn’t trade any of them for anything in the world. I will do everything that I can to make sure my students not only respect themselves, but others as well. They will learn that physical education and technology can be a wonderful experience. Physical Education won’t be tedious, but enjoyable. I will provide opportunities for the students to develop cooperation, tolerance, sportsmanship, leadership, loyalty, respect, and honesty. I look forward to inspiring the students’ lives and hope that they will be able to learn something worthwhile in my class room.

Dress for the Weather

We have had some really nice weathered days lately. If we have the chance, I would love to get the students outside. Please have them dressed for a semi chilly day by bringing sweats, jackets, light gloves, and a hat if they choose. If everyone can be prepared, we can stop being stuck inside when it is nice. Thank you!

Fitness Testing

We are starting fitness testing in Physical Education and cardio testing in Cardio Games. Students need to be prepared to do one test at least a day. If they need an inhaler, they will need that every day in class. They should be bringing it every day already so they can participate in the workout.

Cardio Games - Invent a game

Students will create a game that uses all of the aspects of a game we have played. They will need to have rules, safety precautions, and equipment. They will practice presenting the game on their own time, so they are prepared when they are to present in front of the class. The students will teach the class the rules and instructions on how the game is played. Then the class will participate in it. After class, the students will need to fill out the Post Class Observation that will have specific questions about how they feel the game went.

This is Due by December 4th (A day Class) and 5th (B day Class).

Attached is the Muscle Study Guide for the Eighth Graders. Their test is in two weeks. Please have them study this at home! Thank you!
Attached is the Skeleton Study guide for the Seventh Graders. Their test is in two weeks. Please have them study this at home! Thank you!

Dress for the Weather

Dear Parents! Please remind your students to dress for the weather. As the weather starts to change, we will take advantage of as much good weather as we have left. So please remind them to bring a jacket and sweats and even gloves and a hat if they need them. We will be out side as long as we can.  Thank you!
