Dear Parents and Students,
I am looking forward to meeting with parents for Parent Teacher Conferences this Wed or Thurs. If you have not signed up for a time yet, please go to the school website and it will direct you how to do so. This is a great time to look at goals for your student for the year, and how we can work together to accomplish them.
Nov. 8th (Tues) -- Classroom presentation of poems for the Speech Festival. The top three in the Oratory category and the top 3 in the Drama category from each classroom will go on to the 4th grade finals. This poem presentation also counts for your student's November Poem memorization assignment.
Nov. 9th (Wed) -- Parent Teacher Conferences 4:00 to 6:00/6:40 to 8:00.
Nov. 10 (Thurs) -- Winners from Classroom Poem competition will compete in the 4th grade finals. 6 students in the Drama category and 6 students from the Orator category from each grade will go on to the 3rd and 4th grade Speech Festival competition the following week, Nov. 16. Your student was given a Speech Festival Rules page. If you have any further questions, please email me.
Nov. 10 (Thurs) -- Parent Teacher Conferences 2:00 to 5:00
Nov. 11 (Fri) -- No school
This week in Science we will begin a new Science Unit on Rocks and Minerals. Each student needs to bring to school an empty egg carton to store the rocks that we will be classifying and collecting.
In History we will be starting our Unit on Early People that lived here in Utah. Students will be learning about 4 native groups of people that left evidence of their place in Utah's history. We will then move on to a study of the 5 Native American tribes that live in Utah today.
Hope to see you at parent Teacher Conferences!
